Epson 25,000lm projectors create a spectacular at a charity fund-raising dinner

United Jewish Israel Appeal (UJIA), a UK based charity, were hosting a fund-raising event at the prestigious Grosvenor House Great Room in Central London. The event centred around key videos and graphical content to convey the importance of the charities work to the audience of 1000 guests. A large format video solution was required to display the content and deliver high image quality. Light Fantastic Production Services Ltd, trade supplier to the live event, exhibition, and television industries were tasked with delivering the technical production.

Light Fantastic were looking for a projection solution that could deliver content to one large screen above the main stage, as well as supplying relay screens for those who were sat with their backs to the main stage area.

They needed a product that could be installed and commissioned quickly due to the tight timescale and limited build time. The product needed the ability to deliver a 15m wide display and contend with the ambient show lighting levels. Most importantly the solution needed to produce high brightness to showcase the vibrant video content, live graphics and animated introductions that were created for the event.

After previously using the Epson laser projectors for a conference earlier in the year, and experiencing first-hand what their projectors were capable of, Light Fantastic got in touch with PSCo to enquire about a solution based around the Epson 25,000 lumen laser projectors once again.

PSCo, trade only rental partner, worked with Light Fantastic to supply the latest in AV technology to meet the brief. They provided two EB-L25000U, 25,000 lumen laser projectors which were used to edge blend across the large canvas. The canvas was 15m x 3m delivering a bespoke resolution of 5,400 x 1080 pixels. The projectors were mounted on the balcony opposite the stage with a 23m throw distance from lens to screen.

PSCo also provided an additional Epson 8,000 lumen laser projector to feed a 4.2m x 2.4m relay screen opposite the stage.

PSCo provided the full rental package, and accompanying the projectors were two ELPLM13 middle throw lenses for the 25K’s, and an ELPLM09 middle zoom lens for the 8K, as well as frames and rigging hardware.

Rob Myer, director at Light Fantastic, commented on the project: “PSCo provided a great solution to meet our needs for this project. The addition of the Epson Laser range to the PSCo fleet is great in allowing us to deliver high quality projection services to our customers. We love dealing with PSCo as we can rest assured that we are always getting great kit along with the lovely people to back it up.”
